Built in 1868 in Trieste, Saint Spyridon Serbian Orthodox Church exemplifies Byzantine Revival architecture as designed by Carlo Maciachini. Serving the Eastern Orthodox faithful, the church houses a notable treasury of historical objects, icons, and artworks dating to 1751. Adjacent to the structure stands a Serbian curriculum school named after Jovan Miletić, a Sarajevo merchant whose bequest of 24,000 florins endowed education for Trieste's Serbian children. The church remains under the jurisdiction of the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Switzerland.
