Located in the Samida neighborhood of Kawai, Nara, in Japan's Kansai region, Samida Takarazuka Kofun is a zenpō-kōen-fun—a keyhole-shaped burial mound of the Kofun period. Designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 1969, it is also known locally as the Ongonzuka or "golden mound." The tumulus forms part of the central group of the Umami Tomb Cluster, a collection of significant funerary monuments from Japan's ancient burial culture.
