The Sarkhej Roza is a Sufi mosque and tomb complex located in the village of Makarba, approximately 7 kilometres south-west of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India. Built in 1445, this Indo-Saracenic structure is the most revered roza in Gujarat and stands as a Monument of National Importance. The complex is historically significant as a prominent centre of Sufi culture, where the influential saint Shaikh Ahmed Ganj Baksh lived. According to tradition, it was at the saint's suggestion that Sultan Ahmed Shah established his capital on the nearby banks of the Sabarmati river, making Sarkhej a site of considerable spiritual and political importance in medieval Indian history.
