The Jarchi Mosque is a Shi'ite place of worship located within the Great Bazaar of Isfahan, Iran, dating to 1610 CE. Built under the supervision of Shah Abbas' herald—a connection reflected in its name, "Jarchi" meaning herald in Persian and Azeri—the mosque exemplifies Safavid architectural tradition. Constructed of tile, plaster, brick, stone, and wood, it features a shabestan (basement prayer hall) and carries a Thuluth inscription above its spandrel commemorating its foundation. Though its decorative program has been largely destroyed, the mosque remains registered on Iran's National Heritage List since 1937.
