The Jāmeh Mosque of Tehran, also known as the Atiq Mosque and the Bazaar Jāmeh Mosque, is a Shi'ite Friday mosque located adjacent to Tehran's Grand Bazaar and ranks as the oldest mosque in the city. Its oldest section, a Shabestan, dates to the 10th or 11th century during the Al-e Bouyeh era, with later additions reflecting Safavid and Qajar architectural styles. Constructed of tile, brick, and mortar, the mosque was designated to Iran's National Heritage List on December 9, 1996, and is administered by the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran.
