Located in Jyväskylä, Finland, the Säynätsalo Town Hall is a landmark brutalist complex designed by Alvar Aalto following his 1949 competition win. Completed in December 1951, the multifunction building comprises two main structures—a U-shaped council chamber and administrative offices alongside a community library and residential flats—organized around a central courtyard. Regarded as one of the most significant works of Aalto's career, the town hall was built for the municipality of Säynätsalo, which merged with Jyväskylä in 1993. The building is protected under Finnish architectural heritage law and was designated in July 2026 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with eleven other Aalto works.
