The Scilla Lighthouse, an active beacon built in 1913, stands six meters tall on the seaward terrace of Castello Ruffo di Scilla in the Calabrian town of Scilla, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Positioned opposite the Capo Peloro Lighthouse on the Sicilian coast, it serves as one of two guiding lights directing maritime traffic from the north into the Strait of Messina.
