The Scottish Rite Temple in Mobile, Alabama, is a striking masonic building completed in 1922 and designed by local architect George Bigelow Rogers. Built as a meeting place for the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, it stands as Mobile's only intact example of Egyptian Revival architecture. The cornerstone was laid on November 30, 1921, and the structure was finished the following year. In 1984 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The building was later sold to private ownership in 1996 and converted into a banqueting venue, giving it new life beyond its original ceremonial purpose.
