The Marine Terminal in Saint Petersburg's Vasileostrovsky District is a Soviet Modernist port facility constructed between 1973 and 1983 by architects V. A. Sokhin and Leonid Kalyagin. Located on the western tip of Vasilyevsky Island at Square of Maritime Glory, the terminal opened in 1982 to serve cruise and ferry vessels. The striking building features walls clad in volumetric sail-shaped panels and is crowned by a 78-meter titanium spire bearing a ship motif. Originally built for the Baltic Sea Steamship Company, the complex comprises five berths, border and customs facilities, a restaurant, hotel, and conference spaces, functioning as both a passenger station and inter-voyage base for mariners.
