Located in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, the Seattle Times Building was a three-story Art Deco office structure completed in 1931. Designed by Robert C. Reamer, the reinforced concrete building combined Art Deco and Moderne stylistic elements and served as the headquarters of The Seattle Times newspaper for eight decades, replacing the earlier Times Square Building. The structure underwent expansions to accommodate growing office space and larger printing presses. Its exterior and roof were designated a city landmark in 1996, recognizing its significance to early twentieth-century Seattle architecture. The newspaper vacated the building in 2011, and it was sold to Canadian developer Onni Group in 2013. Demolition began in October 2016, with plans to preserve the facade as part of a new residential development featuring a 73-meter tower integrated into a podium incorporating the historic front.
