The Şehzade Mosque, a 16th-century Ottoman imperial mosque in Istanbul's Fatih district, stands on the city's third hill as a memorial to Şehzade Mehmed, son of Suleiman the Magnificent, who died in 1543. Completed in 1548 and designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan, it ranks among his earliest and most significant commissions, representing a signature achievement of Classical Ottoman architecture. Built in dimension stone, the mosque exemplifies the refined architectural vocabulary of Ottoman imperial patronage during the reign of Suleiman.
