The Seymour Krieger House, a landmark of International Style residential design, stands in Bethesda, Maryland. Built in 1958, this one-story steel-framed structure exemplifies the modernist aesthetic through its painted white brick walls and bands of large plate-glass windows and sliding-glass doors set within steel frames, complemented by marlite panels. Designed by Marcel Breuer—who created only four residential buildings in Maryland—with landscaping by Dan Kiley, the house rests on a concrete foundation. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
