Shibuya Scramble Square is a mixed-use skyscraper in Tokyo's Shibuya ward, standing 229.71 meters tall as the tallest building in its district. Completed in October 2019 and opened the following November, the eastern tower is the centerpiece of a larger station-area redevelopment that includes two additional buildings (central and western structures) with a combined total floor area of 276,000 square meters. Designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates alongside Tokyu Architects & Engineers, JR East Design, and Nikken Sekkei, the complex rises directly above Shibuya Station, with underground floors connecting directly to the transit hub. The 181,000-square-meter eastern tower houses shops, offices, and a rooftop observation deck called SHIBUYA SKY, along with parking facilities. Named after the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing—the world's busiest pedestrian intersection located just meters away—the building epitomizes the densely integrated development of Tokyo's commercial heart.
