The Shimosuwa Aozuka Kofun is a zenpō-kōen-fun (keyhole-shaped mound tomb) located in Shimosuwa, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, dating to around 600 CE. This burial monument exemplifies the zenpō-kōen-fun architectural style, characterized by its distinctive keyhole form—a circular mound adjoined to a rectangular platform—which became the dominant funerary design during Japan's Kofun period. Such monumental earthworks served as elite tombs and represented significant expressions of power and social hierarchy in early Japanese society.
