The Sioux City Public Library, a Prairie School-style structure completed in 1927, was designed by local architect William L. Steele for Sioux City, Iowa. Built decades after the style's heyday in Chicago, the building exemplifies the Prairie School movement's enduring influence across the Midwest. Identical in design to the Fairmount Branch library constructed the same year, it demonstrates the architectural consistency Steele brought to the city's public institutions. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, the building now serves as a Head Start program facility.
