Located on Main Street in Fleischmanns, New York, the Skene Memorial Library is a frame building combining Queen Anne and Shingle architectural elements, dating to the early twentieth century. Its exterior draws inspiration from local train station architecture. Built by the widow of prominent gynecologist Alexander Skene, who summered in the area and founded the library years earlier, it was funded through contributions from villagers and a grant from Andrew Carnegie, making it one of the many Carnegie libraries constructed during that era. The building later passed to village ownership and now serves as both library and village hall. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, it houses approximately 15,000 volumes, with a notable collection focusing on the Catskills and Hudson River region.
