Sonkajärvi Church, completed in 1910 in the Finnish municipality of Sonkajärvi, exemplifies the Art Nouveau and National Romantic architectural styles that characterized early twentieth-century Nordic design. Designed by architect Josef Stenbäck, the building is now designated as a protected cultural monument. The church represents the period when Finnish architects drew inspiration from national identity and organic formal vocabularies, merging these with the decorative sensibilities of Art Nouveau.
