Built in 1892, the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot in Whittier, California is a two-story, wood-frame structure designed in the Queen Anne style. Originally sited at 11825 Bailey Street, the station was constructed to serve the town's growing citrus industry, with its second floor containing an apartment for the station agent. The depot was moved to 7333 Greenleaf Avenue in the mid-1980s during a comprehensive restoration funded by a $1.2 million grant. Today, the City of Whittier preserves the historic station for use as a railroad museum and community center, with the building listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
