St Bartholomew's Church in Richards Castle, Herefordshire, is a Norman structure built in 1101 that stands near the castle commanding this strategically important position in the Welsh Marches. Now redundant and in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, this Grade I listed building is distinguished by its detached tower, which stands approximately 11 yards to the east of the main church body—an unusual arrangement that survives as a notable feature of the Norman design.
