The Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great, located in Smithfield within the City of London, is a medieval Romanesque structure founded as an Augustinian priory in 1123. Built in brick, the church stands adjacent to St Bartholomew's Hospital, established from the same foundation. Distinguished from its smaller neighbour St Bartholomew the Less—founded contemporaneously and now a chapel of ease—the two parish churches were reunited under a single benefice in 2012. A Grade I listed building, St Bartholomew the Great remains an active parish church within the Diocese of London and continues to serve its community.
