St. Bartholomew's Church is a historic Episcopal parish located on the east side of Park Avenue between 50th and 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan, founded in January 1835. The church building itself, designed by the prominent architectural firm McKim, Mead & White and Bertram Goodhue, exemplifies Byzantine Revival architecture and was completed in time for its first service in its Park Avenue home in 1918. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 2016 for its significance as an important example of early twentieth-century ecclesiastical architecture, the church and its accompanying Community House complex are recognized as landmarks at the city and state levels as well. The congregation continues to maintain an active presence, reporting over 2,200 members in recent years.
