St. Mary's Church (Marienkirche) in Rostock, a Hanseatic city in northern Germany, is the largest of three surviving town churches, built in Brick Gothic style and designated as the main parish church in 1265. Constructed from brick, the church was designed by Jean-Laurent Le Geay and stands as an architectural heritage monument in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Since the Protestant Reformation in 1531, it has served as a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran State Church of Mecklenburg, distinguishing it from the city's other parish churches, St. Peter's and St. Nicholas, while a fourth church, St. James', was destroyed during the Second World War.
