St Michael, Cornhill, a Grade I listed church in the City of London, stands on a site with medieval parochial origins predating the Norman Conquest. The present building, traditionally attributed to Sir Christopher Wren, was constructed in 1670 to replace the medieval structure destroyed in the Great Fire of London. The upper portions of the tower were designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. During the nineteenth century, the church received embellishments by Sir George Gilbert Scott and Herbert Williams.
