St. Stanislaus Institute in Šentvid, Ljubljana, is an Art Nouveau building designed by architect Josip Vancaš and completed in 1905. The institute was founded to establish Slovenia's first fully Slovene-language upper secondary school, fulfilling a vision championed by Ljubljana Bishop Anton Bonaventura Jeglič, who blessed the cornerstone in 1901 and dedicated the finished building in 1905. Named after Saint Stanislaus Kostka, the school operated until 1941, when German authorities seized it for military use and subsequently by the Gestapo. After World War II, it served as a Yugoslav military barracks before deteriorating during the Cold War. Following Slovenia's independence in 1991, the building was returned to the Catholic Church and restored, now housing the Episcopal Classical Secondary School alongside dormitories, a music school, and other educational facilities. The building is registered as a cultural heritage site of Slovenia.
