The State Bank of Stratford, a historic bank and residential building in Stratford, Iowa, was constructed in 1918 on a corner lot the institution had occupied since 1910. Built eight years after the original bank opened in 1891 during a period of rural prosperity, the structure exemplifies Georgian Revival architecture through its pedimented entrance portico, elliptical arched windows, brick quoining at the corners, and dentilated cornice. Though it weathered the agricultural downturn of the 1920s, the bank succumbed to the Great Depression and was purchased in 1936 by the Farmer's Savings Bank, which operated there until relocating to a new building across the street. The structure was recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
