Stolberg Castle is a 13th-century palace perched above the town of Stolberg in the Harz Mountains of southern Germany, commanding a dramatic hilltop position with steep drops on three sides. Designated a Kulturdenkmal (cultural heritage monument), the castle underwent comprehensive restoration and renovation by the German Foundation for Monument Conservation beginning in 2003, returning it to modern condition after centuries of weathering.
