The Swift House stands at 4500 South Michigan Avenue in Chicago's Grand Boulevard community area, a Richardsonian Romanesque residence completed in 1892 for Edward Morris, president of Morris & Company, and his wife Helen Swift Morris, daughter of Swift & Company's founder. Designed by Chicago architects Willett & Pashley, the house features a rusticated stone exterior, stone columns supporting its porches, a dentillated cornice, and a turret with projecting stone gable. Beyond its original residential purpose, the building has housed a funeral home and served as headquarters for the Chicago Urban League. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the structure was severely damaged by fire in December 2023.
