Teatro Bellini is a private opera house in central Naples, situated across from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples on Via Conte di Ruvo. Designed by architect Carlo Sorgente and completed in 1864, the theatre takes its name from the Sicilian-born composer Vincenzo Bellini, celebrated for his operatic works and his time studying music in Naples during the 1820s. A namesake opera house, the Teatro Massimo Bellini, also exists in Catania, Sicily, Bellini's birthplace.
