Designed by Teodoro Anasagasti Algan and constructed between 1922 and 1923, the Teatro Monumental in Madrid is a rationalist concert hall originally built as a cinema. The venue's streamlined modernist aesthetic reflects the architectural idiom of its era. After its initial function as Teatro Cinema Monumental, the building was repurposed to accommodate concerts spanning multiple genres—from classical and pop to jazz and folk—and now serves as the home of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra. With a capacity of 4,200, the theater holds the status of a bien de interés cultural, recognizing its architectural and cultural significance to Spanish heritage.
