Located within the British Embassy residential compound in Tehran's Gholhak Garden, this Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery was established in 1963 to honor over 500 British and Commonwealth soldiers who died in the First and Second World Wars. Designed in the Pahlavi architectural style, the cemetery serves as a memorial to those whose final resting places are unknown or unmaintained, with dedicated markers for soldiers who perished in Iran and Russia without graves. The site includes the Tehran Memorial, a focal point for remembrance within the broader landscape of commemoration maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
