Telecommunications office
Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Germany

Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
This Expressionist telecommunications office in Berlin's Tempelhof-Schöneberg district was designed by Kurt Kuhlow and Otto Wilhelm Spalding and completed in 1929. Standing 27 meters high, the building exemplifies the dynamic formal language of Expressionist architecture, a style that privileged bold geometric forms and emotional intensity over the austere rationalism of its contemporaries. Recognized as both a cultural heritage monument and architectural heritage monument in Berlin, the structure represents an important chapter in early twentieth-century German institutional design.
