The Temple Building, a 12-storey Romanesque Revival skyscraper designed by architect George Wallace Gouinlock, stands at the corner of Richmond Street West and Bay Street in Toronto. Completed in 1895 and rising 36.93 metres (121.2 feet), it exemplifies the architectural style that blended medieval fortification aesthetics with late-nineteenth-century urban ambition, marking an important phase in Toronto's vertical expansion during the era of early steel-frame construction.
