Temple Sholom of Chicago, a Reform Jewish congregation founded in 1867, occupies a Byzantine and Moorish Revival synagogue completed in 1928 on North Lake Shore Drive. As one of Chicago's oldest and largest Jewish congregations, with over 1,100 member families recorded in 2010, the building exemplifies the eclectic historical revival styles popular for major institutional architecture in early twentieth-century America.
