Theater Freiburg, located on Bertoldstraße at the edge of Freiburg im Breisgau's historic centre, is the oldest and largest theatre in the city. Designed by architect Heinrich Seeling, it unites four performance spaces under one roof: the Großes Haus (main stage), the Kleines Haus (small stage), the Kammerbühne (chamber stage), and the Werkraum (workshop). The Winterer Foyer hosts additional programming including author readings, chamber music concerts, and lectures. Since 2005 the theatre has operated under independent ownership.
