Built in 1925 in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, the Timberline Cabin exemplified National Park Service rustic design, conceived by the NPS Landscape Engineering Division under Thomas Chalmers Vint's direction. Originally constructed to house workers building the Fall River Road, the one-story structure was fashioned from concrete with stone veneer, its distinctive roof framed with peeled logs and topped with log lattice shielding asphalt roll roofing. Measuring approximately 32 by 16 feet and positioned above the timberline, the modest cabin featured two doors and ten windows. It later served as both a patrol cabin and caretaker's residence. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, the cabin has since been demolished.
