The Tomb of Sultan Murat I is a türbe (Ottoman mausoleum) located in the Prishtina District of Kosovo, erected in the 14th century by Bayezid I to honor his father, the Ottoman Sultan Murad I, who fell at the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. As the first example of Ottoman architecture in Kosovo territory, the monument represents an early assertion of Ottoman cultural presence in the region. Rather than housing Murad's complete remains—which were divided between Kosovo and Bursa—the tomb holds his internal organs, interred where he died. The mausoleum gained mention in the 17th-century travel accounts of Evliya Çelebi and has since become a site of religious significance for local Muslim communities, preserving both Ottoman architectural heritage and the memory of an influential sultan.
