Triumph Palace is the tallest residential building in Moscow and Europe, standing 264 metres high. The 57-storey structure, completed in 2006 after construction began in 2001, contains approximately 1,000 luxury apartments. Often called the "Eighth Sister" for its visual kinship with Moscow's celebrated Seven Sisters—Stalin-era skyscrapers of the 1950s—Triumph Palace topped out on 20 December 2003. At that moment it became Europe's and Russia's tallest skyscraper, a distinction it held until Moscow's Naberezhnaya Tower block C (268 metres) was inaugurated in 2007.
