Located at the marina of Old San Juan in Puerto Rico, the United States Custom House is a two-storey custom house completed in 1924 and designed by architect Albert B. Nichols. Built in Spanish Colonial Revival and Mission Revival styles, the structure stands as a superb example of this architectural approach in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The building is most notable for its distinctive pink-colored exterior, substantial size, and an elaborate terracotta-ornamented central tower that dominates its composition. Situated north of the former Spanish Arsenal of San Juan and adjacent to Las Dársenas and Immigrants' Square, it marks the location of the city's former main port and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
