Located at the entrance to Lima's Barranco District, the UTEC campus is a brutalist structure completed in 2015 by Irish architects Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara of Grafton Architects, who would later win the 2020 Pritzker Prize. Positioned between Bajada de Armendáriz, Reducto Avenue, and Paseo de la República, the building has drawn both acclaim—earning the epithet "modern Machu Picchu" from admirers—and controversy regarding its design.
