Villa Lante al Gianicolo is a Renaissance villa perched on Rome's Janiculum Hill, designed by Giulio Romano in 1520–21 for Baldassare Turini. It was one of Romano's first independent commissions following the death of his master Raphael. Built on the footprint of ruins believed to have belonged to the Roman poet Martial, the villa commands views across Rome. Today the property belongs to the Republic of Finland and houses both the Institutum Romanum Finlandiae and the Embassy of Finland to the Holy See.
