Villa Paveri Fontana, located just outside Collecchio in the Province of Parma, is a rural aristocratic palace that blends Renaissance and Baroque architectural traditions. Originally constructed in the fifteenth century, the villa underwent substantial refurbishment in the seventeenth century under the direction of Giovanni Boscoli and Ferdinando Galli-Bibiena. Galli-Bibiena is particularly celebrated for his remarkable interior quadratura and trompe-l'œil decorations, which create illusionistic spatial effects throughout the house. The grounds are embellished with Baroque ornamental architecture, including the Arco del Bargello triumphal arch and a Triton fountain. A small former oratory dedicated to the Madonna di Loreto was erected nearby in 1709. The villa, recognized as Italian national heritage, now houses the town library.
