Built in 1912 and purchased by Emil Von Allmen, president of the Gray-Von Allmen Sanitary Milk Company, in 1919, this house in Louisville, Kentucky exemplifies the Bungalow/Craftsman style with Neo-classical detailing across its 1½ stories. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in December 2007, it stands as the last remaining structure of what was once a substantial dairy farm spanning 226 acres—now reduced to just 4 acres amid Louisville's urban expansion. The property's consolidation into the surrounding city marked the end of its agricultural operations. Shortly after its historic listing, chef Dean Corbett of Equus restaurant undertook its restoration, converting the landmark into an upscale dining establishment called Corbett's: An American Place, which opened in mid-December 2007.
