Built in 1903 for the Wabash Railroad, this combination passenger and freight station in Shenandoah, Iowa, exemplifies the Queen Anne and Stick-Eastlake style designs the railroad employed as standard across its network. The single-story frame structure features a gabled roof and wide overhanging eaves characteristic of the period. Originally sited as an island station surrounded by tracks—with the rear track devoted to freight operations and the main line running along the front—the depot was relocated to Sportsman's Park by the Wabash Trace Nature Trail following its acquisition from the Iowa Southern Railway. The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
