Waller Hall, located on the campus of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, is a Renaissance Revival structure completed in 1867 that holds the distinction of being the oldest higher-education building west of the Mississippi River still in active use. Originally called University Hall, it now serves as the university's administrative center. The building has demonstrated remarkable resilience, having been gutted by fire twice with its interior reconstructed each time. It underwent major renovations from 1987 to 1989 and again in 2005. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, recognizing its architectural and historical significance to American higher education.
