Located in Minot, North Dakota, the Ward County Courthouse was completed in 1929 as an Art Deco structure designed by the Minneapolis firm Toltz, King & Day. At a construction cost of $498,000, it was the most expensive county courthouse built in the state for nearly three decades. The building stands alongside two other distinctive North Dakota county courthouses—the Barnes County and Burke County courthouses—also designed by the same architectural firm. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
