Located at 2633 16th Street Northwest in Washington, D.C.'s Meridian Hill neighborhood, the Warder Mansion (also known as the Warder-Totten House) is the only surviving building in the city designed by the renowned architect Henry Hobson Richardson. This single-family detached home has survived two major preservation crises: in the 1920s, it was disassembled and moved 1.5 miles north to save it from demolition, and again in the 1990s when its future looked uncertain. The building served as home to the Antioch School of Law from 1972 to 1988 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
