The Washburn University Carnegie Library Building in Topeka, Kansas, is a neoclassical stone structure erected in 1904 with a $40,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie's library endowment program. Built for Washburn College—later renamed Washburn University of Topeka, which had been established in 1865—the library exemplifies the philanthropic investment in American higher education during the early twentieth century. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 and is also recognized on the Register of Historic Kansas Places.
