Located at the intersection of Main and Marble Streets in West Rutland, Vermont, the town hall was constructed in 1908–09 as a refined example of Colonial Revival architecture. The building originally served a triple purpose, housing municipal offices, a public library, and a community meeting hall. Its restrained Colonial Revival style reflects early-twentieth-century civic ambitions in small-town America. The structure was recognized for its historical significance when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
