Westport High School, located at 315 East 39th Street in Kansas City, Missouri, was designed by architect Charles A. Smith and completed in 1907. The building exemplified a blend of Tudor Revival and modern architectural styles characteristic of early twentieth-century educational design. Its cornerstone was ceremonially laid on June 8, 1907, an event commemorated a century later when the Class of 1957 presented the original trowel to the school during its centennial celebration. Part of the Kansas City, Missouri School District, the school operated until its closure in 2010, after which its historically significant building was recognized with listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
