Wharetiki was an Edwardian timber house built in 1904 on Colombo Street in Christchurch, New Zealand, for businessman and philanthropist Matthew Barnett. Designed in the Art Nouveau style, the building—sometimes known as Glenfell House—was registered as a Heritage New Zealand Category II historic place. The structure was damaged during the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake; following the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority's demolition order, the building became the subject of the first court challenge to CERA's post-earthquake powers. The High Court upheld the authority's decision in July 2011, and Wharetiki was demolished the following day.
